During the first year, the infrastructure of four units for storing of collections were renewed (WP5):

  • Herbarium and Botanical collections for teaching, Faculty of Biology, Sofia University (photogallery)

    The infrastructure of the herbarium and the collections for teaching of the Department of Botany were renewed with mobile shelving systems for archiving and storage of samples, purchased under the frame of CEBDER.   • Herbarium of the Agricultural University, Plovdiv (photogallery)

    The herbarium includes over 150 000 herbarium samples and comprises almost all the diversity of plant species in Bulgaria. Under the frame of the CEBDER project, the herbarium was renewed with mobile shelving systems for archiving and storage of samples.   • Storage for scientific collections, Institute of Zoology, BAS (photogallery)

    The laboratory "Scientific Collections" is a subunit within the Institute of Zoology. It was renewed under the frame of CEBDER project with an archive mobile shelving system for storage of entomological collections of dried, pinned up material. It offers storage space for 4200 entomological boxes. The archive shelving system will serve for storage of the whole entomological collection of Institute of Zoology, embracing dry, pinned up insects from the following orders: Coleoptera, Diptera, Heteroptera, Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera. Total number of prepared specimens is about 243 830, including 1229 specimens of type series and 65 primary types. Head of the unit: Toshko Ljubomirov, PhD (T.Ljubomirov)

  • Storage for scientific collections, National Museum of Natural History, BAS (photogallery)

    During the first year of the project CEBDER, the scientific collections of the natural History Museum were renewed with archive mobile shelving systems for storage of entomological collections of dried, pinned up material, and shelves for alcohol materials. The archive shelving system will serve for storage of the whole scientific collections of insects, fish, amphibians and reptiles of the Natural History Museum.
