Research Field

Molecular approach in the study of structure and function broadens the possibility for revealing the intimate mechanisms of ecosystem function and allows a more precise assessment of anthropogenic impact at the molecular and genetic levels. Studies on the biogeochemical transformation of complex organic compounds and harmful substances include the determination of rates and mechanisms of transport and transformation of substances and the mechanisms of their impact on ecosystems.

The results of these studies are applied in the process of decision making and development of integral management programs in the following fields: i. integrated management of watershed ecosystems; ii. integrated management of water quality and ecosystems of waterflows and wetlands; iii. management of water quality in marine coastal ecosystems.
